  • What exactly is Barberry?

In October and November, the fruit is ready to harvest. Long winters are not a problem for this plant. There are several species of barberry, the most common of which is seedless barberry. Orally ingested barberry, also known as rock barberry, seeded barberry, blue barberry, or water barberry in different parts of the world. There are two kernels in each seed.


  • Chemical substances found in barberries include:
    Taurine, oxycontin, and berberine are alkaloids found in this plant. The root of the barberry contains more alkaloids than the rest of the plant. Other alkaloids found in the root bark include 2-bamine, palmatine, cilobamine, and veratrine, in addition to oxycontin.
